Trimethylamine-N-oxide dihydrate (TMAO) is the anhydrous form of trimethylamine oxide (TMAO). It has a number of applications in industry and research. TMAO is used as a diagnostic agent for metal carbonyls, such as lead and arsenic, and also for hydrogen bond.
