:Bifenthrin
Description:
Bifenthrin is a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide widely used for pest control in agricultural and residential settings. It is characterized by its ability to disrupt the normal functioning of insect nervous systems, leading to paralysis and death. Bifenthrin is known for its high efficacy against a broad spectrum of pests, including ants, termites, and various agricultural insects. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a faint odor and is relatively stable in the environment, which contributes to its effectiveness. The compound has low solubility in water but is more soluble in organic solvents, making it suitable for various formulations, including emulsifiable concentrates and granules. Bifenthrin exhibits low toxicity to mammals and birds, but it is highly toxic to aquatic organisms, necessitating careful application to minimize environmental impact. Its mode of action involves the inhibition of sodium channels in nerve cells, leading to prolonged nerve impulses. As with all pesticides, proper handling and adherence to safety guidelines are essential to mitigate potential risks to human health and the environment.

CAS:
Bifenthrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that is used in wastewater treatment, as well as in the control of fleas, ticks, and other insects. Bifenthrin binds to the ryanodine receptor (a calcium channel) and inhibits its function. It also has been shown to inhibit the activity of other enzymes such as acetylcholinesterase and phospholipase A2. Bifenthrin has been shown to have a synergic effect with other pyrethroids such as permethrin, cypermethrin, and tau-fluvalinate. The matrix effect is an important property that affects the efficacy of bifenthrin in water systems. Constant pressure may affect the efficacy of bifenthrin when applied on surfaces or when sprayed aerially.
Formula:C23H22ClF3O2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:422.87 g/mol
