CAS:Alogliptin is a drug that belongs to the class of glp-1 receptor agonists. It is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and can be prescribed alone or in combination with other drugs. Alogliptin has been shown to stimulate the production and release of peptide hormones, such as glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP), which are important for the regulation of blood sugar levels. The drug also stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells in response to blood sugar levels, which is necessary for maintaining normal blood sugar levels. Alogliptin has an effect on congestive heart failure by increasing cardiac output through improved contractility, as well as on gut motility through its activity on toll-like receptors.
