5-Chloro-2-(propan-2-yloxy)aniline is an analog of the substrate of glucocerebrosidase, which is an enzyme that breaks down the sugar galactose. 5-Chloro-2-(propan-2-yloxy)aniline has been shown to inhibit the activity of this enzyme and thereby reduce the symptoms of Gaucher disease. It also inhibits other hydrolases, such as acid phosphatase and esterase.
