Bisphenol-A-d16

Description:
Bisphenol-A-d16, with the CAS number 96210-87-6, is a deuterated form of bisphenol A (BPA), a widely used industrial chemical primarily in the production of polycarbonate plastics and epoxy resins. The "d16" designation indicates that this compound contains deuterium, a stable isotope of hydrogen, which replaces some of the hydrogen atoms in the BPA structure. This substitution enhances the compound's utility in various analytical applications, particularly in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, where it serves as a tracer or internal standard. Bisphenol-A-d16 retains the core characteristics of BPA, including its phenolic structure, which contributes to its reactivity and potential endocrine-disrupting properties. It is important to note that while BPA has been scrutinized for its health effects, the deuterated variant is primarily used in research settings. As with all chemical substances, proper handling and safety protocols should be observed to mitigate any potential risks associated with exposure.

Bisphenol A-d16 is a bisphenol A derivative that is used as an analytical standard in the determination of bisphenol A in urine samples. BPA-d16 was synthesized by reacting propranolol hydrochloride with 1,4-bis(2,6-dimethylbenzoyl)benzene. This chemical ionization method has been shown to be more sensitive than HPLC and GC methods for the analysis of bisphenol A. BPA-d16 has been shown to have a high inhibitory potential against tumor cell growth and metastasis in vitro and in vivo, as well as effects on human liver cells. In addition, it has also been demonstrated that this chemical can be detected in wastewater treatment plants and dry weight samples of human liver tissue.
