<p>3-Tetradecylthiophene is a colorless liquid with a refractive index of 1.547, which has an onset of 10-20°C and a dilution of 0.01%. The compound has an absorption spectrum in the region of 230-390 nm, with a maximum at 340 nm and a quantum efficiency of 0.2%. 3-Tetradecylthiophene is used as a monomer for the preparation of polymer films and coatings. It can be copolymerized with other materials to produce polymers that are optically active due to their shift in position on the visible light spectrum.</p>
