The locomotor activity of animals was tested following administration of this substance, and it has been shown to have a high resistance against x-ray crystallography. The reaction mechanism for the formation of p-hydroxybenzoic acid from 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde has been proposed, which may be due to the oxidation of 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde by hydrogen peroxide. This reaction also induces apoptosis pathway in cells.
