Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-amine has been shown to have spectra that are similar to those of acetone and chloroform, with the exception of a red shift. This shift may be due to the electron donating nature of the nitrogen atom. Pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-amine also has basic properties and shows an increase in polarity when dissolved in carbon tetrachloride.
