H-Ile-NHOH acetate salt has been shown to inhibit the growth of wild type C. glutamicum in a molecular modeling study. In addition, this compound has been shown to block messenger RNA (mRNA) synthesis in a mutant strain of C. glutamicum that does not have the frameshifting mutation.
