Amylin is a hormone that regulates the release of insulin from the pancreas. Amylin is a protein that consists of 39 amino acids, and in its natural form it is not soluble in water. The amyloid fibrils are insoluble aggregates of proteins that can be found in the brain tissue of patients with Alzheimer's disease.
