H-D-Val-Leu-Arg-AFC
This fluorogenic substrate is commonly used to measure protease activity. When in the presence to the protease of interest, H-D-Val-Leu-Arg-AFC is cleaved by the enzyme and a fluorescent compound is released. The amount of substrate cleaved is proportional to fluorescence increase, enabling the protease activity to be quantified. This makes H-D-Val-Leu-Arg-AFC perfect for use in investigating the activity and function of protease enzymes such as kallikrein. Specifically, it can be used in biochemical research as a fluorescent indicator of proteolysis and peptide release by kallikrein (excitation wavelength 400 nm and emission wavelength 505 nm).
