Naphthidine is a reactive, receptor-binding drug that can be used for the treatment of bone cancer and cancer. It has been shown to have a photoalignment effect in the presence of light, which leads to its emission of light. Naphthidine binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, thereby preventing the binding of acetylcholine and inhibiting nerve transmission. Naphthidine also has an active functional group that is reactive. The carbonyl group on naphthidine's reactive site reacts with hydrogen chloride in acidic solution to form a hydrochloride salt. This reaction inhibits bacterial growth by damaging bacterial cell walls and breaking down proteins through hydrolysis.
