Ganoderenic acid A is an anticancer agent that has been shown to inhibit tumor growth and induce apoptosis in cancer cells. It has demonstrated high detection rates, with a sensitivity of 0.1 pg/mL and a specificity of 100%. The organic solvent used for extraction is nonpolar, which may increase the activity of Ganoderenic acid A by inhibiting membrane-bound enzymes. Ganoderic acid A was extracted from the fungus Ganoderma lucidum and showed no toxicity in mice at doses up to 1000 mg/kg body weight.
