Product Information

Name:
UNC 569
Description:

UNC 569 is a potential anti-platelet agent that has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of human microglia cells. It binds to an inhibitory death receptor protein, DR5, and blocks the signaling pathway for apoptosis. UNC 569 also inhibits the production of platelets by binding to the alpha-granules in megakaryocytes. The efficacy of UNC 569 as an anti-infective agent is not yet known.
UNC 569 is a molecule with a molecular weight of approximately 3,000 daltons and has been shown to bind to proteins that regulate cell division. This inhibitor binds to proteins that are involved in the regulation of cell division, such as growth factors, protein targets, and anti-platelet agents. It has also been shown to have selective toxicity profiles for murine xenografts and cell nuclei.
