Amisulpride is an antipsychotic drug that has been used to treat schizophrenia. It is a dopamine receptor antagonist. Additionally, this drug has been researched and used to treat acute mania, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar depression. Amisulpride works by binding to dopamine receptors in the brain which then blocks the action of dopamine. Amisulpride has been shown to be effective in treatment trials for schizophrenia that are resistant to standard treatments such as clozapine, haloperidol, or risperidone. In addition, this drug has been shown to be effective in reducing serum prolactin levels and improving cognitive performance in patients with schizophrenia.
Amisulpride is part of our Bio-X ™ Range. These products are aimed at life science researchers who need high quality ready-to-use products for assay development, screening or other R&D work.
