AZD9833 is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that has been shown to be effective in treating breast cancer and other cancers. This drug also binds to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and inhibits the production of the growth factor, which is important for tumor cell proliferation. The in vivo bioavailability of AZD9833 has been shown to be high and it has a pharmacokinetic profile that is similar to other SERMs. Phase I clinical studies have demonstrated that this drug can inhibit tumor growth effectively at an effective dose of 30mg/day.
