Sitostenone is a natural molecule that is extracted from the seed of the plant Cyperus rotundus. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer, inflammatory diseases, and as an oral hypoglycaemic. Sitostenone's anti-cancer activity may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis, which prevents tumor cells from proliferating and multiplying. Sitostenone also inhibits the production of fatty acids in cells, which can lead to weight loss. This compound is not toxic for humans and does not cause any side effects at doses below 100mg/kg body weight. The effective dose for sitostenone is 10mg/kg body weight per day.
