Destruxin B is an atp-binding cassette transporter that binds to voltage-dependent calcium channels. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the activity of cyclic peptide-sensitive ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporters. Destruxin B is also a natural compound that has a structural similarity to the cyclic peptide, gramicidin S. Destruxin B is synthesized by polymerase chain reaction in vitro and has pharmacokinetic properties similar to those found in vivo. In addition, destruxin B has been shown to inhibit the production of hepatic enzymes and reduce inflammation.
Destruxin B does not have any effect on mitochondrial membrane potential or galleria mellonella development.
