Linteol is a natural compound that has been shown to induce apoptosis in cancer cells. Linteol induces apoptosis by regulating the levels of PGE2 and inducing mitochondrial dysfunction. Linteol has also been shown to inhibit the growth of HL-60 cells and induce apoptosis in these cells. The anti-cancer effects of linteol have been demonstrated using an analytical method, chemiluminescence method, and cell culture studies. This compound binds to DNA and inhibits DNA binding activity, which leads to apoptosis.
