Description:Pemetrexed is a chemotherapy drug that belongs to the class of drugs called folate antimetabolites. It is used for the treatment of various cancers such as non-small cell lung cancer and pleural mesothelioma. Pemetrexed targets the enzymes thymidylate synthase, dihydrofolate reductase and glycinamide ribonucleotide formyltransferase. The drug works by inhibiting those enzymes so that the formation of DNA and RNA is prevented.
