R428 has been shown to inhibit proliferation of breast cancer cells in vitro and reduce the size of solid tumours in mice. This drug also inhibits epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) from epithelial cells to mesenchymal cells, which may be a potential mechanism for its anticancer activity.
