Product Information
SCO-267 is a novel small molecule that has been shown to increase insulin sensitivity in mice by activating the protein kinase Akt3. SCO-267 is orally active and penetrates the blood brain barrier to exert its effects. It has been shown to improve glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity in wild-type mice, as well as reduce plasma ALT levels in neonatal mice. SCO-267 also activates Akt3 in min6 cells, which are a pancreatic beta cell line. This activation leads to increased fatty acid oxidation and reduced triglyceride accumulation. In knockout mice, SCO-267 was shown to protect against fatty liver disease induced by chronic exposure to ethanol or high fat diet.
