Description:Ticlopidine is a platelet aggregation inhibitor that is used in the prevention of conditions associated with thrombi such as stroke and ischemic attacks. This drug blocks the ADP receptor that is involved in GPIIb/IIIa receptor activation leading to platelet aggregation. By reducing platelet aggregation, ticlopidine helps prevent the formation of harmful blood clots that could block blood flow in arteries.
