PF 998425 is a steroidal antiandrogen that binds to nuclear receptors and inhibits the production of testosterone. It has been shown to be effective in the treatment of hypogonadism, cachexia, prostate hyperplasia, and polycystic ovarian syndrome. In prostate cancer cells, PF 998425 can inhibit cell proliferation by binding to the glucocorticoid receptor and blocking its action. The drug also has anticancer effects in radiation-resistant cells. PF 998425 is an active ingredient in drugs used for treating cancer or other conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).
