Product Information

Name:
RIP1 Inhibitor II, 7-Cl-O-Nec-1
Synonyms:
  • 5-((7-Cl-1H-indol-3-yl)Methyl)-3-MethyliMidazolidine-2,4-dione)
Description:

RIP1 is a protein that controls the activation of necroptosis and apoptosis pathways, which are known to be related to cell death. RIP1 Inhibitor II (7-Cl-O-Nec-1) is an inhibitor of RIP1 that can prevent the activation of necroptosis and apoptosis pathways. It has been shown to protect neurons from injury in animal models, as well as improve bowel function in patients with IBD. 7-Cl-O-Nec-1 also prevents axonal growth and cell death in cultures of mouse cells and synergizes with other cell death inhibitors. This drug may have therapeutic potential for the treatment of diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, although further studies are needed to confirm this effect.
