PXS 4728A is a small molecule that inhibits the activity of the enzyme, urea carboxylase, which is responsible for the conversion of ammonia to urea. PXS 4728A has been shown to be effective in treating patients with chronic kidney disease and lowering their blood pressure. It has also been shown to reduce insulin resistance and improve insulin sensitivity. In addition, PXS 4728A was found to inhibit inflammation by reducing neutrophil infiltration into the kidney fibrosis in mice with experimental glomerulonephritis.
