Description:Ac-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH is a protein that has been shown to inhibit the multidrug efflux pump, P-glycoprotein. It also inhibits p-gp, which is a transporter protein in the gut that helps remove toxic substances from the body. Ac-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH was shown to be an active inhibitor of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for DNA samples obtained from cancer patients. Ac-Pro-Gly-Pro-OH may be used as a p-gp inhibitor in the treatment of bowel diseases and squamous cell carcinomas.
