Andarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that is currently being studied as a potential treatment for prostate cancer. Andarine binds to the AR with high affinity and specificity, and has been shown to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells in vitro. It also inhibits the production of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) in human prostate cancer cells, which may be related to its ability to inhibit the activity of protein kinase C (PKC). In addition, Andarine has been shown to have anti-estrogenic effects in breast cancer cells by inhibiting 17β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 (17β-HSD2), a key enzyme in estrogen synthesis. Andarine has not yet been tested on humans, but has been found to cause few side effects in animals.
