Description:Brimonidine L-tartrate is a cyclase inhibitor that blocks the enzyme cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) phosphodiesterase. It has been shown to be effective in vivo in humans and has been shown to inhibit the production of neurotrophic factors in human HL-60 cells. Brimonidine L-tartrate is also effective as an anti-inflammatory agent and has long-term efficacy when used as a control analysis. This drug significantly reduced the rate constant of the 2-adrenergic receptor, which may lead to decreased risk of heart disease.
