Product Information
Name:Comin's reagent
Synonyms:
- N-(5-Chloro-2-pyridyl)bis(trifluoromethanesulfonimide)
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Comin's reagent is a sulfonation agent that reacts with an enolate and forms a sulfonic acid. The reaction can be used to synthesize chiral compounds. Comin's reagent is selective for the (R) configuration of acetylcholine and can be used to synthesize α-amino acids from chiral alcohols and esters. Comin's reagent is also used in the synthesis of neurotrophic or growth factor compounds, which are proteins that promote cell growth or differentiation. These functional groups are found in natural products such as nicotinic acetylcholine, thallusin, and growth factor.
