Cascaroside D is a glucoside that was isolated from Chrysophanus carunculatus. It has been shown to have a chrysophanol and anthrone as its acetylated components. The molecule has strong absorption at 420 nm and an emission at 590 nm. Cascaroside D has also been used as a spectroscopic marker for the isolation of anthracenes.
