Cis-Capsaicin is a non-pungent capsaicin analogue with high affinity for the TRPV1 receptor. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the JAK1 kinase, which is involved in the development of diabetic neuropathy. Cis-Capsaicin also has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, and can be used as a treatment for eye disorders such as dry eye syndrome. The therapeutic efficacy of cis-Capsaicin has been shown in clinical trials for the treatment of infectious diseases, such as HIV and tuberculosis, and autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis. In addition, cis-capsaicin has been shown to have cardiac effects in rats by reducing myocardial oxygen consumption.
