Description:Clofibrate is a lipid-lowering agent that is used for the treatment of hyperlipidemia. It is a non-selective inhibitor of fatty acid synthesis and has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro. Clofibrate inhibits tumor cell proliferation and induces apoptosis, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis in cancer cells. This drug also suppresses the growth of breast cancer cells by inhibiting their ability to proliferate.
