3,4-Diaminofurazan is a chemical compound that is stable in an oral environment. It has an optimal reactivity with a pyrazole ring and methoxy groups. 3,4-Diaminofurazan is active against Staphylococcus aureus strains that are resistant to other antibiotics. The molecule has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of DNA and RNA. The kinetic of 3,4-diaminofurazan was studied using nitro as the substrate, and it had an activation energy of 11.8 kcal/mol at 298 K. The chemical structure of 3,4-diaminofurazan has been determined by x-ray crystallography and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). It can be synthesized using nitric acid or hydrochloric acid as solvents:
