This compound can then be converted to the desired product by treatment with activated carbon or photochromic agents such as benzophenone and tetracyanoethylene. 2,4-Difluorobromobenzene can also be used as a synthetic intermediate for antifungal agents such as fluconazole and it has been shown to have some activity against Cryptococcus neoformans.
