- 6-[(2S,3R,4R)-3-Hydroxy-4-methyl-2-(methylamino)octanoic acid]cyclosporin A
Dihydrocyclosporin A is a monoclonal antibody that can inhibit the immune system by preventing the activation of T cells. Dihydrocyclosporin A has shown to be effective in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy and has been found to reduce the severity and frequency of allergic reactions. Dihydrocyclosporin A also inhibits epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor activity, which may contribute to its anti-inflammatory effects. This drug has been shown to have immunosuppressive properties on mice with congestive heart failure, and it also decreases the production of erythropoietin, which leads to anemia. Dihydrocyclosporin A is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and is excreted through urine.
