Description:
2',4'-Dihydroxy-3',6'-dimethoxychalcone is a natural product that has been shown to inhibit the growth of human pathogens such as Mycobacterium avium, S. epidermidis, and Prostate Carcinoma cells. It also inhibits the growth of malignant cells, such as thp-1 cells and s.epidermidis cells. 2',4'-Dihydroxy-3',6'-dimethoxychalcone binds to the ribosome in bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis at an early stage of translation. This prevents bacterial replication and cell division.
