Product Information

Name:
N-Formylsaccharin
Description:

N-Formylsaccharin is a formylating agent that reacts with nucleophiles such as primary amines or azides to produce formyl derivatives. It is also an efficient synthetic method for the synthesis of formylated molecules and can be used to recycle organic waste. N-Formylsaccharin has been shown to react with a wide range of functional groups, including alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and amines. However, it does not react with nitriles or esters because they have no lone pairs available. N-Formylsaccharin is stable in water but decomposes when heated to high temperatures.
