Product Information
Name:Fmoc-Thr-OH
Synonyms:
- Fmoc-L-Threonine
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Fmoc-Thr-OH is a synthetic amino acid that has been used in the synthesis of peptides and glycopeptides. It is also a good building block for the construction of sialic acid derivatives. The Fmoc group can be removed by treating the compound with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), which yields an unprotected l-threonine residue. This is then reacted with a benzyl ester to form an amide bond, forming an Fmoc-protected lactam. The chloride group on the benzyl ester can then be displaced by a reactive electrophile, such as trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) or N-hydroxysuccinimide, to form the desired product. The analytical hplc method for quantifying Fmoc-Thr-OH uses choline as an internal standard and detects peaks at Rt = 1.80 min.
