Product Information

Name:
MDL-29951
Synonyms:
  • Mdl 29951
Description:

MDL-29951 is a drug that acts as a glycogen synthase kinase-3 inhibitor. It is being studied for its potential to treat inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. MDL-29951 inhibits the production of inflammatory mediators, such as tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin-1β (IL-1β), and prostaglandins, by binding to the response element binding protein. This inhibition prevents transcription of gene expression and reduces the activation of proinflammatory cytokines. MDL-29951 has been shown to be effective in reducing inflammation in wild type mice with inflammatory diseases. The drug also reduces neuronal death in glutamate antagonists, which may be due to its ability to inhibit glutamate dehydrogenase.
