- 1-(2,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-3-[4-(beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy)phenyl]-2-propen-1-one
Neoisoliquiritin is a natural flavonoid that has been shown to inhibit the replication of DNA by binding to the polymerase chain. It also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Neoisoliquiritin binds to the drug-binding domain of the human mitochondrial transcription factor A, which alters its ability to bind to DNA. This causes a decrease in mitochondrial functions and leads to cell death. The matrix effect of neoisoliquiritin is related to its interference with toll-like receptor signaling pathways, which may lead to antitumor activity. Neoisoliquiritin has been shown as an analytical standard for isoliquiritin, a compound found in licorice root extract.
