Robenacoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of neurokinin-1 receptor, which has been implicated in the development of bowel disease. The compound has a synergic effect with other drugs, such as aspirin and diclofenac. Robenacoxib is metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and eliminated through glomerular filtration. Clinical pharmacology studies have shown that robenacoxib inhibits phospholipase A2, thereby reducing eicosanoid production and inflammation. END>
