The compound (R)-9BMS is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth in vitro and in vivo. The compound was found to be more potent than the drug sunitinib and has been shown to have a greater therapeutic index. It also showed no signs of toxicity in animal models. (R)-9BMS was developed for the treatment of prostate cancer, but due to its molecular structure it is possible that it may have potential applications for other cancers, such as breast cancer.
