Description

Sudan III is a chemical compound that is used as a dye in the textile industry and as an optical sensor for pharmaceuticals. It is also used to measure the drug concentration levels in biological samples. Sudan III has been shown to be sensitive to pH and temperature, which can affect its optical properties. The optimum concentration of Sudan III for fluorescence measurement is 1 x 10-4 M, with a response time of approximately 5 minutes. This dye has a high affinity for hydrophobic surfaces such as polypropylene and polyethylene, but not hydrophilic surfaces such as glass or Teflon. Sudan III can be detected using electrochemical detection methods, including cyclic voltammetry (CV) and amperometry.
