Sclareol also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. Sclareol can inhibit the growth of Candida glabrata yeast at concentrations of 10-5M or less. This compound has also been shown to be effective against other pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Helicobacter pylori, and Escherichia coli.
