D-Tetrahydropalmatine has been shown to have matrix effect on the coronary heart diseases and to improve blood circulation. Studies have shown that D-Tetrahydropalmatine has a similar effect to fructus, which is extracted from Fructus Ligustri (Chinese angelica). The optimum extraction process for D-Tetrahydropalmatine includes sodium ferulate and fructus ligustri.
