Description:Wilforlide A is a novel anticancer drug that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inhibiting amino transferase and blocking the synthesis of DNA. Wilforlide A has synergistic effects when used in combination with tripterygium wilfordii, a Chinese herb, and moronic acid, an extract from Tripterygium wilfordii. Wilforlide A also has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used to treat autoimmune diseases. The efficacy of Wilforlide A was evaluated using surface methodology on human skin squamous carcinoma samples. It was found that Wilforlide A had no cytotoxicity when applied to these cells. In addition, it inhibited tumor growth in mice inoculated with human squamous carcinoma cells. These findings show that Wilforlide A is a potential candidate for treating squamous carcinoma patients.
