Wedelolactone is a natural product that has been shown to have potent inhibitory effects on the activity of nuclear DNA polymerase. It also inhibits the activation of Bcl-2 protein and downregulates the expression of ginsenoside Rg3, which are both important regulators in cell death pathways. Wedelolactone has been shown to be effective against melanoma cells and lung cancer cells by inhibiting their proliferation. This may be due to its ability to inhibit the NF-κB pathway, which regulates cellular responses to stimuli such as cytokines and bacterial or viral antigens.
