Description:RMM 46 is a chemoproteomic inhibitor that selectively inhibits protein synthesis by reversibly covalently binding to the eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2A (eIF2A). This inhibitor has been shown to be non-catalytic and reversible, which means that it does not inhibit other protein kinases. The irreversible inhibition of the eIF2A by RMM 46 has been shown to result in a decrease in protein synthesis and a number of physiological effects including decreased granule size. RMM 46 has also been shown to have selectivity for the eIF2A over other protein kinases.
