GLAVLT has been shown to be cardioprotective in mice by reducing oxidative stress and inhibiting mitochondrial superoxide production. GLAVLT has also been shown to be neuroprotective against diabetic neuropathy in mice, as well as being protective against renal ischemia/reperfusion injury, by increasing vasodilatory prostaglandin levels and inhibiting autophagy.
